IQ Points don't equate to intelligence, if you have a 150 IQ, but think Socialism is a good thing, are you not still a dumbass

Some Govt machines still use ie11 as a baseline. No let.

Something to note here. Intelligence is currently measured poorly. And many dispute the heritability of intelligence (mostly communist types wanting to make the perfect man via indoctrination). Intelligence is a very real thing but we weight it far to hard in non-problem solving and mathematical domains. That makes the communist /socialist types score higher than they otherwise would. If you look at schools, specifically in STEM fields you get higher ratios of "republicans" to "democrats". So it still follows in a sense your idea that it's the dunces that think socialism works. They just got what amounts to a little "bonus points" on their IQ score. And for what its worth they way we teach math in schools these days depresses math scores in men/boys. Men need more competitive and practical environments to excel in math. For that matter there are a lot of women like that too. But, if you are told "you won't need this after high school" and don't even know what you can use the math to do, why learn it? I think it is a way for the upper classes too suppress competition from average people. But, the saying goes "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree" there is a reason for that. Look at Trumps family. His uncle was a very successful engineer. From my point of view there is no way Trump's IQ is under 140.

Indeed. When I was in Geometry, I basically blew it off until I was explained in-depth, what exactly I could use it for, and how it could benefit me, same thing goes for Stats. Although, realistically, both are only useful for about 1-3 Units in, and then after that start getting very specialized, and only serve to bring Poor Student's Grades even lower.

I don't know what person with an IQ north of 100 would think Communism is a good idea.

2
NotAPuma 2 points ago +2 / -0

You'd be surprised. I've been to many College Campuses, and I am willing to bet they either lied about their IQ Score, or we're straight up bullshitting me. Socialism has never worked, and will never work.

completely uncorrelated in my opinion — if any correlation it would rather be slightly inverse

I too have a Mensa level IQ and know this: IQ does not correspond to everyday wisdom (aka. commonsense/sensibility/moral character).

Incorrect usage of capitalization can be really fucking annoying.

People who are making claims of a serious nature name their sources (not "credentialed blah blah blah).

What I don't know: The President's IQ

c4n5p00 9 points ago +9 / -0

I agree 100%. I tested at 157 forty five years ago on a push by a friend who thought I should take the test. I never had the $100 for a membership, so I passed on joining. That was “weekend money” back then and times were tight.

A Mensa level IQ doesn’t mean you can think on your feet. Nor does it mean you should be held in higher esteem by others. It was just a narcissist’s scratch for an itch they might have.

Trump can definitely think on his feet and he is very adaptable. That is a real key to intelligence in my books.

As far as Mensa goes, it is a solely a tool not unlike tools / puzzles used by the Brits during WWII to identify people who might have code breaking or clandestine skills. The Imitation Game was a great movie about that.

4
operatorstorm712 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yeah, most of the Mensa people I've met are absolute pricks. I would take some of my LD students as neighbors over those jackasses any day of the week -- the former would at least be pleasant and not up in my business like the latter.

I've got some very high IQ people in my extended family...God love them, but the lower IQ fam are the ones who help them keep their feet on the ground (most of the time). And funny you should mention the code breaking!

2
c4n5p00 2 points ago +2 / -0

Had a friend at that time who was a headhunter for employment companies. He mentioned to me if I decided to join Mensa, that I could never put it on a resume because employers would see me as some of your family members you mentioned and pass immediately! So more than anything else that was the best reason to pass.

That movie I mentioned is great and I think you would enjoy it. It is based on a true story.

Thanks, have to admit I'm intrigued.

I just went to one of their get-togethers...and pretty much offended everyone in the short time I was there. Ranks in the top 3 most boring "parties" I've ever attended. I've eaten more exciting bowls of oatmeal and seen less snobbery at an academic conference (so that's saying quite a lot, imho). If the people there were representative of Mensa, I can see why nobody would want to hire them.

7
johndude [S] 7 points ago +7 / -0

IQ does not correspond to everyday wisdom

agreed, and I'd go so far as saying there might exist a slight inverse correlation (you develop the abilities you need — a Mensa IQ usually lets you live comfortably without having to develop an acute common sense).

2
operatorstorm712 2 points ago +2 / -0

That is why it is vitally important, imho, to experience everyday life and not live in a bubble.

Although to be honest, my dad, some cousins/aunts/uncles, a sil, a daughter, and a nephew all got placed in the 150+ category...and everyday life could overwhelm them quite often. The price they paid I suppose. Didn't appear to be any blessing, more often a curse.

3
Cantshadowbanthemall 3 points ago +3 / -0

This. I just think quickly, parallel process efficiently and can relate different concepts easily.

2
operatorstorm712 2 points ago +2 / -0

Different people have different skills and purposes; we should allow them the freedom to use those and guard against the use of the same for evil (which has just as much chance for happening as good).

There used to be a guy at a group home, microcephalic, the course of his day involved playing with his basketball, waving at people and saying "Hi!" (and during the season, giving people flowers)...I know many who thought he was a waste of human life, but getting a smile and a flower was not unpleasant, and in the great scheme of things very likely not the worst a human could do.

Ron Mason sounds like he might actually be retarded and is projecting. He’s probably only “familiar with the thinking” of those who have interviewed Pres. Trump. What limp dick retard.

1
You_Aint_Black 1 point ago +1 / -0

Well I’m not too familiar with the school where he received his credentials, mains someone could fill me in...

University of Life and Hard Knocks

2
CherryCoke 2 points ago +2 / -0

It’s an idiom meaning he got his education from his own life experience. And he’s answering questions on what looks like Quora, pretty much like the Wikipedia of yahoo answers.

2
You_Aint_Black 2 points ago +2 / -0

I know what it is. My point is that it is not a real University and he is pretending to be a real scholar.

1
CherryCoke 1 point ago +1 / -0

Haha my bad. Yeah it’s laughable at best!

8
crusty_curmudgeon 8 points ago +8 / -0

Wow. That’s a lot of big words. He sure is intimidatin’

7
AbleKane 7 points ago +7 / -0

And maybe Ron Mason has a few demons of his own, like the illusion of self importance, along with a jealous rage that he could never reach the success level of the man he delights in diminishing.

7
becky21k1 7 points ago +7 / -0

Sounds like they're describing the average Democrat, except the IQ estimate is about 20 points too high

6

I hate to say it but Mensa members are like Vegans... They will tell you they are even if you didn't ask.

4

well okay maybe I was bragging a bit... but this is genuine, and the author's assertion about Trump being 110-115 is beyond ridiculous. There is NO WAY IN THE WORLD that Trump would be below 150.

11
Squee_ 11 points ago +11 / -0

He's got the biggest IQ, maybe ever. You know it, I know it. Everyone's talking about it.

Any psychomatrician or individual in a related field should not be practicing if they are assuming IQ from anything other than a properly administered IQ test. Despite what the internet says and ‘experts’ say, there is no behavior or trait that highly correlates to IQ and IQ above 130 is particularly hard to calculate and requires a non-standard test. Sometimes occupation can be used to ‘guess’ but it’s highly flawed as some doctors nearly average IQ’s and others are highly gifted...Jorden Peterson speculated on Trump’s IQ but I don’t believe he gave it a number but instead used his accomplishments and number of challenges overcome to rule-out luck or coincidence - again very subjective but at least more common-sense than this nonsense. This is simply a to further demonize Trump with no basis - furthermore, most people (including liberals) have IQ’s below that suggested Trump IQ of 110-115...it’s not a low IQ but liberals, almost in the same sentence will criticize QA testing as inaccurate and racist while touting their own allegedly high IQ which almost never comes from a legitimate and standardized test administered by a professional.

Psychology and psychiatry are the most vile of their weapons.

3
Raritat 3 points ago +4 / -1

This phenomena has been explained by psychologists.

If you are smart but you also happen to be sociopath, you will have no problem lying and manipulating people. These are the traits of democrat party leaders.

Sociopathic traits, when not associated with the state power, often create evil geniuses such as Jack Dorsey, George Soros.

Look Boris Yeltsin and Michael Gorbachev. They were communists. They were selected as most likeable people, yet they did what was right and are now despised by the leftists and commies across the globe.

Most of the achieves are high IQ people. IQ does not guarantee success. In fact, one of the ways to measure practical success is wealth. There are other factors such as, for example scientific inventions (aka Einstein, Maxwell) or recognition by society (George Washington, Ronald Reagan). Trump does belong to probably 0.0001% of world's population by net worth, and by this time he surely knows what power, envy of others, revenge, litigation and smears are.

The article that you are showing here has been written by Trump haters who is obviously not so smart and is merely a reflection of envy and hate.

Will you stop reading the propaganda? Is it so hard to break the addiction?

2

I remember looking this same thing up back in 2015 when he first announced his candidacy, before they could change things. The same "Credentialed Psychologists, Psychoanalysts, and Psychiatrists" tended to agree around 140-150.

His apparent lack of understanding of even basic capitalization is driving me crazy.

If he sent a report up the chain looking like this, I would send him back to remedial English class.

I don't want to brag, but my IQ is higher than the number of legitimate Biden votes.

Typical liberals love to think they're the smartest people n the planet, but are dumb as fuck.

1
cook_does 1 point ago +1 / -0

Trump operates on the principle of compounded wisdom. Yes Trump is smart, but his real strength, his real power over his enemies is his awareness of his weaknesses and and blind spots. He has been in businesses for a very long time and always builds up teams that help him accomplish his goals. His teams motivation is never Trump, but their own self interests and they have the power to fulfill those through their association with Trump. Trump at times seems like he is several steps ahead, not because of his intellect alone, but because of trusted advisors and activated and enabled teams who control themselves to benefit themselves and Trump.

The Compounded wisdom is by association with people who literally have nothing left to lose and everything to gain, a means of redemption.

I am a person who questions everything. A man whom uses grammatical errors in his title, while claiming "MENSA," is one such example.

3

Non-native English speaker here.

Plus me being a 140 or not is kind of besides the point. What matters is that Trump being a 115 is a ridiculous claim.
