So, Trump tried the middle route, and it failed and now he is trying to preserve his family. But, it's the wrong move. He should be trying to preserve his base.

This is why they had to create fake ballots and scanned them rather than just wholesale making vote numbers. See the surveillance tape from Atlanta for example, they were scanning fake ballots.
So a hand recount is worthless, it needs a full audit and they have fought to block any of those, for the reason they will find a lot of fraud.

Due to the fact that ID was not required there is no other way to verify real votes without a signature verification.
Recounting illegal votes will render the same results.
