The way the left thinks is, if you like a politician, you LOVE them. You endorse everything about them and they completely embody your values. It has very little to do with their policies and accomplishments. It’s all symbolic. The right is (largely) PRACTICAL. What are their policies? Are they following through on them? Does the country benefit? Anyway, so when you’re talking to a leftist, and you support Trump, they think you view him in the first way when in fact you view him in the second.
