I have been telling my parents the same thing for weeks. Trump and his team certainly knew what to expect and surely made plans and prepared for it so this cannot be how this ends but here we are.

What is the right supposed to be for: small government and individual rights.
So, the right-leaning politicians are supposed to make themselves weak and meaningless, so the public could be free and powerful.
Except, they could "accidentally" lose, and let the government become more powerful and rich and they themselves become powerful and rich. Or compete agains the big business that is ready to fund their opposition.
