All of these companies have one thing in common. They all make money off of you by selling your data. Most important, they use that money to destroy the very things that you hold dear. Ideas, Freedom, Morality, Religion, Beliefs, Politics, Public opinion, Rights, Liberty. If you continue to use these platforms, you have noone to blame except yourself as you watch the erosion happen before your eyes. Do the world a favor and leave these platforms and never turn back.

I'm a digital marketer and, until last week, worked with these platforms. I can tell you first hand that these people are dangerous; but it's not your data that they're selling, it's your behavior and the ability for them to change it. As someone who purchased digital ads, I never saw your data. I did get you to buy my clients' products (a behavior change).

I thought they were giving me access to a highly defined audience with a personalized message. However, I realize that they were molding you into someone who was more likely to purchase my clients' products. This is what's dangerous. Their algorithms are meant to make you ready to buy before my ad gets to you. For example, if I have a makeup ad that I'm pushing to you, they may show articles of the "10 most beautiful women in the world" before showing my ad. They know if they can enforce the idea that beauty is valuable and that you don't measure up, that you're more likely to buy. They're changing your opinion of yourself to make you a better buyer.

I encourage EVERYONE to watch the Social Dilemma, especially if you have kids. They expose a lot of this.

I've actually seen the documentary. I totally agree with everything you're saying. The behaviour manipulations occur only because they can sell the data because you're on their platform. I'm in I.T. also for over 20 years. The psychological manipulations impact on society by these big tech companies is astounding and right down despicably evil. Thank you my fellow Patriot for your input and taking the time to explain.
