Even though some parts of life have improved during this bullshit shit-show scam-demic, I do want to share what happens when you stand your ground when you're surrounded by family who despises you for it.

I bought my daughter who's in her mid-20s a 9mm conceal carry pistol for Christmas. She just finished up 6 years of college at a major university and has a Master's degree so she already thinks she's 1,000x smarter than her idiot father who only went to art school for 2 years — (even though her dad makes 5x more than she does in his stupid career).

She threw a HUGE fit and chastised me for "trying to get her arrested" (in an open carry state) and that she wants nothing to do with the gift and basically handed it back to me calling me an asshole.

We were in a restaurant parking lot.

When we walked into the restaurant they asked me to put on a mask and I said no. They told me to leave so we left. I said "let's go elsewhere" (as this is only the 3rd time this has happened since March).

My daughter screamed at me calling me a "stupid piece of shit who doesn't care about anyone" and stormed off, got in her car while telling me she never wants to see me again.

A week ago she called me to say she was one of the first ones in line to get the vaccine because she was "scared to death watching my roommates almost die when they got COVID and I don't want to get this shit!!!"

I had to remind her that back when she TOLD ME (over the summer) that her roommates had tested positive for COVID that BACK THEN she told me "they had a cold for a couple of days and felt crappy, but then they were fine."

But in the last 3 or 4 months since her story has changed to "I watched them almost die."

It really broke my heart seeing how petrified my child is to the point she just thinks if she keeps her head down, is a good little girl and wears her mask and gets her shots when they tell her to — that the boogeyman will just go away.

The only thing I said in retaliation to her attacks on me was "Someday you'll know I am right. I hope it's not too late for you," before I drove off and we haven't spoken since.

She's always going to be my child, but I have already lost the rest of my family, friends, and blacklisted myself across my career just for OCCASIONALLY discussing the truth for the last 25 years.

Just wanted to share that sticking to your guns is TOUGH and you are PROBABLY going to lose a lot of friends and family — but I have been rewarded HEAVILY over and over and over again for sticking to the truth and not backing down.

Hopefully, she will see this shit for what it is someday and realize how much she's been duped.

Either way I got a nice Kimber Micro 9 out of the deal. I was gonna buy another one for myself but now I am just keeping this. She lives in the city, so the next time it is on fire she can fend for herself.

Hi mom, (dad?)

Just wanted to say I'm sorry. I was where she is now 4 years ago. Took a rough tumble in life because I deserved it and God had bigger plans for me than me being a sanctimonious asshat. Things you don't learn in university when you're not being brainwashed to be miserable are amazing.

I got a Sig 365 last week all by my grown up self. All it took was a revolution and 2 kids of my own to come around and see that dad was right the whole time.

Currently working to see that my whole family is stocked up and covered, no matter what happens.

And no matter what happens, God is in control. He has a plan, and its the only one to be trusted. He'll be here soon enough, so I'm trying to get the house clean and our souls shined up and ready to say hey.

Give it a little while. Prodigals return when they realize even their parents servants eat better than the pigs with which they keep company.

Much love,

Another dumb kid

Her having a gun probably isn't a good thing anyway - especially if she is unhinged. Back during the Civil War, families were split. Brother against brother. Father against son, etc...It's gonna get worse before it gets better. Your words are very wise. Hang in there!
