Then we can keep voting rights locked to tax paying property owners. No income tax because there will be no handouts or SS to fund.

Putting your life back in your own hands. The government can't use or invest your money any better than you can.

No, not restricted only to property owners. What kind of fascist nonsense is that? If I pay taxes, serve my country and follow legit laws but don't want the hassle of property maintenance and outrageous property taxes, then why should I be denied the right to vote?

DroolingElmo 33 points ago +54 / -21

Wrong, help people own real property but no property no vote. If you do not have ownership you don't care, you just want whatever you can steal

May as well have a monarchy then and fk the peasants who work low wage yet valued jobs, I can't afford a house in this economy, sounds like you want kings and peasants. I made mistakes in my early years and trying to rebuild, guess fk those who aren't well off eh? What's next, right to first night like in Braveheart?

Simple, property taxes on rentals too so you have some skin in the game.

"But I don't want to pay taxes..."

"Me neither so let's work together to lower spending."

See how well it works?

From an older post on Merit-Based Voting:

We should put voting back in the hands of tax-paying, property owners. The most successful Americans (merit-based voting) and least communistic of us would be making the decisions again. It doesn't differentiate based on race or gender and it would naturally send voting power away from high density voting blocs (which always vote the same due to proximity and group-think) into more varied demographics, just like our founding father's originally intended.

Best of all, is that after we achieve merit-based voting, all we would have to do is sit back and wait as society naturally corrected itself like a pendulum on all the important issues. Gun rights? Defended by property owners. Small businesses? Loved by property owners most of all. Who is most invested in raising and schooling children? People who have them, often times raising them in a family home. Why should a bunch of college kids who are hardly even old enough to have a kid, be deciding how you school, teach and raise yours?

No, not restricted only to property owners. What kind of fascist nonsense is that? If I pay taxes, serve my country and follow legit laws but don't want the hassle of property maintenance and outrageous property taxes, then why should I be denied the right to vote?

Here's a tactical compromise:

How about additional legislative chambers?

Currently we have two: the Senate represents each state equally, and the House represents the population.

We can have additional chamber representing the taxpayers, based on one dollar paid in taxes == one vote.

Can even have a military chamber, for which only veterans get to vote (credit to Robert Heinlein), only applicable in military matters.

A bill has to pass all chambers to become law. Which means you only get broadly popular laws that no class of people objects to.

That government is best that governs least.

bastosmichael 14 points ago +14 / -0

People who pay rent already pay property tax, they just don't think of it that way but do you think the owner is taking the tax from his own pocket?

2
HeckOffSteppersReeee 2 points ago +6 / -4

Yes you absolute moron.

Rent goes into the landlords pocket, property tax then comes out of said pocket.

This isn't that fucking difficult.

4
entropy 4 points ago +5 / -1

He is saying that the property tax is figured into the price of the rental. Therefore the renter is, in fact, paying the property tax. Take a step back and relax, brother.

-1
HeckOffSteppersReeee -1 points ago +3 / -4

That's incredibly retarded, fuck right off with that nonsense.

That logic means you pay restaurant licensing fees and corporate taxes and payroll taxes.

No the fuck you don't, you pay for a product. Just because the cost of said product includes the above costs doesn't mean you are paying those fees.

Fuck off with that collectivist nonsense.

3
bastosmichael 3 points ago +4 / -1

I was merely pointing out that renters pay the tax already through the land lord so asking them to pay it again is moronic. Are you going to force the landlord to pay property tax and then have the renter get taxed again? That's some California tax math right there and sure as hell won't support it.

-1
HeckOffSteppersReeee -1 points ago +1 / -2

Who is suggesting that? Don't strawman people.

2
Salt_n_Pepe 2 points ago +2 / -0

That just makes an even bigger government and gives more power to the uber wealthy. This wouldn't be good.

2
libman [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

No, because any one chamber of the legislature can defeat a bill, but you need them all in order to pass it. That drastically reduces that size of government to just those functions everyone agrees on.

3
Eric-CIA-ramella 3 points ago +3 / -0

Doesnt this just encourage leftists to pursue all chambers like they do currently? You have to create government that is either incredibly bribe proof.

2
Salt_n_Pepe 2 points ago +2 / -0

Creating another chamber of legislature makes government bigger though, and would also lead to even more deadlock in Congress than we already have.

1
libman [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Creating another chamber of legislature makes government bigger though,

πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

No, it makes it smaller. The purpose of legislature is to control government power. the purpose of multicameral legislature is to require a higher level of scrutiny before a law is passed. It gives minority groups (ex. the top taxpayers) a way to veto laws that harm them.

and would also lead to even more deadlock in Congress than we already have.

Deadlock in Congress is a good thing. The opposite of dictatorship is a government where no one agrees so it does nothing.

S I M P [...]

How's the corporate boot taste? What a fucking idiot. If I don't want a system where Zuckerberg, Dorsey et al have a billion votes each, I'm a commie. Your shilling is the worst I've seen.

Maybe you've sobered up, so let me explain this again.

The context of this conversation is a hypothetical new Constitution. A proposal someone else made was going back to only allowing Property Owners to vote. I made a more modest "tactical compromise" proposal in this thought experiment: additional legislative chambers that can sink a bill they don't agree with.

This is a purely defensive function. You still have the House (supposedly representing the voters) and the Senate (equally representing the states). A "Taxpayers' Representatives" chamber wouldn't have the power to make laws that the House and Senate won't pass; it would only reduce what the House and Senate can get away with.

Zuckerberg (Facebook) and Dorsey (Twitter) are actually examples of government cronies who would have been harmed by this. Both of their companies (as well as Google, and others) were government-supported operations from the start. Closer scrutiny on "alphabet agency" (ex NSA) spending would have hurt them a great deal.

You don't have to agree with this idea, but calling me a "simp" (not even using the word correctly) was completely wrong.

Trump supporters are Republicans. We, first and foremost, believe in LIMITED GOVERNMENT, lower taxes, more individual freedom. If you don't like low taxes and free market capitalism, then you are in violation of the "Trump Supporters" rule and should GTFO.

john1234 9 points ago +10 / -1

I think it is a reference to owning land. You don't have to do anything to it

There was a reason why the democracies started with giving the vote to only the land-owning men

It was because intelligence does not correlate with "income" nearly as much as it correlates with "wealth"

Even some stupid people have OK income. But they never save up, and invest wisely. They almost always throw away all their money on useless shit

That is why the land-owners had the vote in the early democracies.

9
Ballind 9 points ago +9 / -0

Wrong on the last part. Land owners represented people because they carried the tax burden. There was no federal income tax. You only got a say if you paid taxes. Same reason women didn't vote - their husband was responsible for their tax burden

8
bingobangobongo69 8 points ago +10 / -2

Even stupid people have wealth. It's called inheritance.

You want the return of an aristocracy. You're an advocate for elitism. Fuck that, MAGA is and always has been a POPULIST movement, the last thing globalist elites need is more power.

3
Eric-CIA-ramella 3 points ago +3 / -0

I'd have to agree, its not hard to buy up land if you have wealth and extinguish votes of other people.

The election in 2022 and 2024 will be very interesting on the Republican side. It should (depending on the amount of rigging on the Republican side) be a bloodbath for incumbents.

A lot will depend on who Trump backs. Does he form a new party? Work to primary all the rinos? We know there is rigging going on, but MAGA isn't going anywhere so candidates SHOULD become more conservative. Voters eyes are wide open now. If enough MAGA people get in at the local level, independence is certainly possible. We know the dems cheat like crazy and a lot of Republicans do too, but to what degree? After all, Trump won the nomination while the dems were shutting out Bernie.

Otherwise we'll be 2nd class citizens.

3
SordidPontification 3 points ago +4 / -1

MAGA is going to have to double down for our own survival when there's shit like this being pushed by the left.

And yep. 1984 is the only book written as a warning that the left has picked up and thought "Hey, that's a good idea."

Funny that Twitter was banning the #1984 and #Orwellian hashtags so they wouldn't link... makes you wonder, doesn't it?

If you think secession ends with two countries, you're nuts. I believe it will happen eventually and 2020 pushed up the timeline, but Texas will be the first to go, Oklahoma may ask to be admitted to their new country, but that's it. If secession is on the table for real, North Dakota or Wyoming isn't going to want to be part of Texas.

Once the secession ball starts rolling, the country will break up into at least a half dozen regional countries, maybe more, based on shared cultures. Florida will go its own way, most of the South will band together, although GA and NC will be monkey wrenches in that plan. CO, NV, AZ, will join with CA, OR, WA to form a western country, MT, ID, WY will band together around Yellowstone, Dakotas down to Kansas and east to Ohio will group up, but MN, WI, and IL won't be part of that. New England will stay crazy, but VT, NH, and ME will probably peace out to control the world's maple syrup supply. Midatlantic states may join New England or may do their own thing centered around DC. DE, MA, VA are already kind of a unit and adding NC to that wouldn't be weird.

36

This. Counties need to secede into neighboring friendly states until the borders of the states are aligned with the borders of the red/blue map.

How would it be any different after the Secession?

Who decides who gets to move to and live in the Red Conservation counties/nation? You know Blue voting liberals will make it their mission to infiltrate and mess things up.

The bulk of the fraud happened in four cities, enough to just flip GA, WI, PA, and MI. If we refuse to vote, all of the rest of the country will go blue, and with it any chance of state/local resistance or secession. Even if there is fraud in every big city, we need to keep the counties and local governments on our side.

If you don't want to vote in federal elections anymore, I don't blame you there. I don't know if I will either.

16
AllahFubar 16 points ago +16 / -0

I'm open for hearing how realistic this actually is. I do have questions, such as for example Texas, how could water rights be secured with the rivers? I'm not dismissing this at all, I want to see TX and perhaps other states secede but just want to see what this would look like.

21
Rational-redneck 21 points ago +21 / -0

Well here in Texas DFW and a large percentage of the houston area is reliant on the trinity river, which is entirely inside of Texas. West texas is largely aquifer fed. Other rivers that flow through Texas are major rivers, and if someone say tried to cut them off upstream somewhere it would be a monumental task to under take.

We also have our own power grid which also supplies the eastern part of NM, but that's not a huge deal. But we are one of the largest producers of alternative energy, between turbines, solar and nuclear.

Texas also has multiple gulf coast ports, including houston which is something like the 4th largest, and the majority of petroleum refining capacity in the United States, with an economy which is just behind that of california, which by itself would be in the top 10 largest in the world.

Texas going back to being the Republic of Texas is much more doable than people really realize.

7
AllahFubar 7 points ago +7 / -0

Thanks! Interesting points, on the water and power grid, the economy. I'm intrigued with this now, and it gives me something to further investigate. I'm in if this is a doable, have to do something and to me this is route is at least giving me hope for direction. Of course the potential of other states joining this union.

Realistically, IF (big if I know) succession happens, the left is utterly fucked. They are islands in a sea of conservatives who are sitting on all the resources. Meanwhile we live in a world where cities are basically giant liabilities. It would be like the split of the Roman Empire where Rome was left with an angry hungry mob and the Eastern Empire with all of the resources was able to flourish for a few more centuries.

The military cant fight guerillas. They always fail at it.

BillionsAndBillions 7 points ago +7 / -0

You'd have commie city-states (NYC, Chicago, LA, Portland, etc.), and the Free Counties of America

libman [S] 6 points ago +7 / -1

This is the 21st century. We have GPS. It doesn't matter how complicated the border is.

We're not going to blockade each-other. We'll make a deal about travel, transportation, etc. We already have Canada separating Alaska, and it isn't a big deal.

Peaceful warrior for the Prince of Peace checking in.

Every day work a little toward the goal of setting brushfires of liberty in the hearts of men.

Fearless. Total peace in God.

Next goal!

Let's get to work!

In Charleston, SC. We don’t have it in us to Secede for the fourth time, not with a coward like Lindsey Graham who I voted for too... Ready for Texas to Secede. Will join the Texas army if needed. To Hell with Tyrants!

3
libman [S] 3 points ago +4 / -1

All past secession efforts (since the War Of Northern Aggression) are insignificant.

Through most of the 20th century there was the Soviet Union - an excuse to tolerate the growth of US government. After it collapsed for a while it looked like the government will shrink (Clinton only winning due to Ross Perot "spoiler", Gingrich taking back the House, Bush, etc). Then the excuse for the growth of government was 9/11 and Saddam WMDs. Then it was Obama, and no one could criticize him for fear of being called """racist""". And then Trump - the last chance to fix the United States in its present form...

2021 is when it gets real!

MAKE IT 100%

This. We need to convince democrats that our ways are not compatible with their ways, and that it's in EVERYONE's best interest to leave.

The new constitution MUST have fool proof mechanisms to prevent any form of socialism. You want udistopia, hop a fence.

6
BlackSalt 6 points ago +11 / -5

Yeah, this will work out well when Biden can point the entire fucking US military at us and Obama made it legal to carry out military operations on American soil.

tufftoffee 20 points ago +20 / -0

If we're going to be killed anyway...

2
BlackSalt 2 points ago +3 / -1

Didn't say I wouldn't, just pointing out the reality.

12
fisterb 12 points ago +12 / -0

It has been suggested that a peaceful secession would include a shared defence structure.

4
BlackSalt 4 points ago +6 / -2

I don't realistically see the snakes of the deep state agreeing to any sort of peaceful secession.

8
SgtReaper 8 points ago +8 / -0

Then FUCK THEM!

That’s pretty much just federalism

If so, then Germany and Japan are part of the U.S.

7
libman [S] 7 points ago +8 / -1

Governments are faith-based institutions, they only exist as the result of faith in their benevolence. They produce nothing, and they're already many trillions in debt.

They can only use the military to fight against violence. This is the 21st century - the whole world is watching. (Literally, live-streaming peer-to-peer video over satellites and platforms outside their control.) There may be martyrs, but they cannot get away with spilling much blood anymore, at least here in America - it will make them look like tyrants.

Why would he get the military? Guess which states have all the nuclear weapons? Red states have the entire ICBM arsenal.

1
BasedBurckhardt 1 point ago +1 / -0

If one missile sub goes for us, we're a nuclear power (in Minecraft).

6
petethedragon 6 points ago +6 / -0

This is what will eventually happen.

I think things are going to progress rapidly after the 20th. Obama (in the eyes of the communists) made several critical errors.

  1. He had both houses in 2008-2010 and the only significant legislation he got was Obamacare. He could have dropped the hammer and done all of the things the communists are trying to do now.
  2. He didn't set up election rigging enough. This allowed him to lose the house in 2010 and for Trump to beat whatever algorithms were in place in 2016.
  3. He didn't get social media to censor Trump in the runup to 2016. This was Trump's only way to communicate unfiltered to the world.

None of these mistakes will be made this time. And states that see how dramatically these actions violate our constitution and values will act.

AOC says they need to make a list of Trump supporters. She's the only idiot that says it out loud, but they all think it. So either conservatives become 2nd class citizens or they make their own country.

4
libman [S] 4 points ago +5 / -1

Good points.

The country has changed significantly. The government-subsidized low-IQ immigration is doing to Texas what it previously did to California. Dems already consistently win the Popular Vote, and they could do away with the Electoral College. DC&PR Statehood would give them 4 free senators and millions of additional votes. They also want to pack the Supreme Court, further censor the normie Internet, make all dissent "hate speech", etc, etc, etc...

Without county-level secession, we won't have another real Republican POTUS again!

5
petethedragon 5 points ago +5 / -0

I agree with most of your points but I don't think the dems win the popular vote consistently. Not only do we now know they cheat, they cheat in EVERY conceivable way. Mail in, ballot stuffing, voting machines, throwing out opposition votes. You name it.

The future is uncertain to say the least, but the things we suspected about our country a few years ago we know now are true. The uniparty, election rigging, ect.

I'm glad this is the awakening the public needed but fearful the public will be powerless to act upon it.

That’s true... best news I heard all day.

Make the land smaller - but secure the hope and flame of freedom.

5
fisterb 5 points ago +5 / -0

Well, you know they want you dead or at least to go into gulags (reeducation camps). Just do it. Added bonus: watch the commies scalp each other as their filthy cities descend into chaos, when their former enemy is gone.

Any solid-R county will do, especially in a solid-R state.

The moment Pence refused to send back the counts in the fraudulent states The USA was over. It may take a few years, but the country is about to divide into at least two separate nations. This is not something we should be happy about, but it is reality and it is virtually inevitable.

3

Secession by county only

3
Themustardtiger 3 points ago +3 / -0

This Canadian pede would gladly ditch his citizenship to move to the new USA if y'all would have me. I know how to repair medical equipment.

2
libman [S] 2 points ago +3 / -1

Canada could use local secession as well.

In many ways Alberta was (at least just recently) the freest place in North America!

Now Alberta and Edmonton are liberal hell holes.

1

I'm hoping that the new republic will stretch across the southeast and straight north through the Dakotas, giving your western provinces easy access to come and hang out with us. Then maybe B. C. will just go ahead and latch on to the west coast.

States powers.

We are all supposed to be run as tiny little nation states anyway.

I would suggest bugging your representatives but they mostly seem to be cucked so why bother?

Maybe we need to focus on the red state governors, they're supposed to be like little presidents anyway and if they're not totally under the Federal's thumbs, they might be the fulcrum to move this ahead somehow.

1
libman [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

We gotta do this on county level, not state.

Most states contain urban commie shit-holes that we want to be rid of.

This isn't about any specific law facilitating secession - tyrants write laws for their own benefit.

This is about demanding popular local secession as our Natural Right - same as the US Deceleration of Independence!

The map should be United Red Counties of America. They can have their 5h!t H0le cities like DC. My wife wants to move to a Red County since the election. All Blue Cities have Commie Mayors, Commie District Attorneys, and Commie Council. I wanted to move before the election.
