Is there a clear cut way to stop all junk mail? I get so much of it. What about pieces of mail that are addressed to “resident?” I honestly forgot that USPS makes most of their money on junk mail. Not only is the USPS failing, but if you think about it, this certainly has to have some sort of impact on the environment. I’d be willing to bet that almost 100% of junk mail ends up in a landfill anyway. I’m all for the collapse of the USPS and helping the environment. 🐸👍🏾
You also make a very good point about the amount of junk that ends up in landfills - much of the material can’t be recycled. Straws we attack, but Dems would not dare go after junk mail in the green new deal is its effectually money for the USPS.
You can pay something like $10 to the junk mail association (I forget their real name) and they will put you on a 'please do not junk mail me' list, which I'm sure will do absolutely zero.
Yeah, I looked at the website the other person linked and although I appreciate the resource, but I’m not comfortable with entering my SSN on the internet for any purpose in this current climate. Except that may have been for spam calls or something, maybe not mail. I can’t remember now. So far, the most effective technique I’ve come across on the internet may be marking all junk as “refused.” But I’m also certainly not paying 10 bucks to stop mail that I didn’t even ask for in the first place Lmao What a scam.
And yes, it will keep coming. It’s like my buddy who does pest control says: ‘It’s not pest prevention, it’s pest control’ - junk mail is persistent and you need to periodically control to get as much as you can.
No, 1st class and priority mail are the only things the post office makes money on. Because lobbyists for the mass mailer industry have clout. I assume Amazon does too.
Always use Fedex or UPS. Cancel as much junk mail as possible - they make money everything junk is shipped.

Definitive single source no...I just went to every option as most are pretty easy. You can start here: https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0262-stopping-unsolicited-mail-phone-calls-and-email

One way is to go dump it back in a mail box. Over and Over.
Nobody do this. If your mailman is nice, you’ll just keep getting it sent back to your mailbox. That’s if your mailman is nice.

Interesting - works somewhat like airlines...explains why shipping USPS is so expensive. Also explains why where are running at a constant deficit.
Unfortunately no matter how much we boycott we end up paying them in subsidies anyway 😪 😕
You send postcards or letters via FedEx?
Packages only - I don’t do holiday cards and I email - many services allow a photo of documents to be faxed. Yes, as a last resort, I’ll use USPS.
