I just finished reading The Hunt for Red October. After a glorious career, Captain Ramius, who loathed the Soviet Union, finally decided he was done pretending. He gathered a tight band of loyalists, sent a "fuck you" letter to the Soviet party, and snuck across the Atlantic to deliver the United States a billion-dollar sub, the pride of the Soviet fleet.
Sometimes, subterfuge is the way to go.
