McConnell is saying that impeaching Trump will rid the GOP of Trump

This is why so many in the GOP stabbed Trump in the back. They all hated him in the beginning. Some pretended to feign loyalty the past 4 years, but then revealed themselves after the steal.

These people really think 80 million Trump supporters are just going to go back to supporting meek neo-cons like Graham, Romney, and McStain.

Bad news for them.

I really do think they aligned with Trumps ideology and vision for how this country should be managed, but they support whatever protects their own interests first. Belief and practice are two different things.

They do not. Cuckservatism has been about retreat since William F. Buckley founded the ideology, they do not like being forced to fight or do things. They would rather write papers, play theatre with stern words and give the left everything it wants. The last thing they want to do is fight or stand up.
