It reminds me of how the swamp is acting right now so much.
SPOILER ALERT
Basically there are these monsters called Skeksis who rule over creatures called Gelfling.
They have pretended to be benevolent for generations.
Over the course of the show, some Gelfling work to expose them for literally killing Gelfling to drain them of their lifeforce in order to prolong their life.
Once the Skeksis are exposed, they end up feeling liberated that they can just oppress the Gelfling openly, and do so.
Eventually(In the movie that it was all a prequel to) they end up killing all the Gelfling but two, who then are able to banish them with the help of the Skeksis' good halves.
WHY IT REMINDS ME OF THESE DAYS.
I feel like Trump and Rudy exposed so much of the swamp since October. So many that we didn't know were bad guys before.
And I feel like much of the swamp only feels emboldened, and liberated, much like the Skeksis, that they no longer need to hide their nature.

Though some are CGI puppets ( They have actual puppeteers controlling the movements of the CGI models with real marionette strings hooked to the computer, apparently it allows for a quicker production time than traditional CGI techniques, gives it a unique look)

I watched the movie after seeing the series. Kind of glad I saw the prequel series first. Would have been a huge downer seeing the movie first to me.
