If the Trump years heralded the rise of the current markets - the exact opposite will take effect quite shortly.

Confidence in the United States is slipping fast. The markets will be no different. You can ignore me just like you did the (ha ha) election. Good luck.

What makes you think I ignored the election?

The markets don't work the way you think they do. Yes, there's sentiment. But HFT's run these markets. It's much different than it used to be. It's more likely to slowly 'melt up' than crash. Bet against it at your own peril.

I'd do cash at the moment - most gold purchases involve a brokers fee. You should be able to convert some of the cash for gold at smaller dealers perhaps (I haven't traded Krugerands in a while now).
