He isn't dumb.

Actually, that excuse is used far too often for politicians. Most often when someone thinks these elites are dumb they've merely miscalculated the intentions of their actions.

The idea that one should " never attribute to malice what can easily be explained by incompetence" has been a get out of jail free card for politicians for generations. I think we should move beyond the idea that our leaders are bumbling idiots, instead of intentionally leading us down a path of destruction for personal gain.

Agreed. Though I forgot to say I think some of them actually are dumb and I chalk that up to them being puppets

All I'll say is his supposed betrayal has exposed all the bad actors. Even Trump said it took more courage for him to not do something. Pence has theoretically burned all his political capital. I'm waiting to see what the result is but pence might turn out to be the bravest person ever. Or he is the dumbest person ever. I could see both.

Trump goes back to being a billionaire and the swamp is exposed on both 'sides'. Pence is either a retard or sacrificed everything to expose the swamp

Was not aware he said not acting took more courage (would make more sense to me if he said it took more faith)... But being foolish and being dumb are two completely separate things & Mike Pence ain't a dummy

I'm skeptical because Trump also said he heard alot of bad stories about pence (implied). So I don't know. Could also be he is just massively misinformed.
