It’s more panic than ridicule. If you stole something big.. say, an election, and you knew there were witnesses who know what you did, wouldn’t they make you nervous? Irrational from paranoia and fear ? That could be at least part of what we’re seeing. If there’s any humanity left among the usurpers, it’s got to be awkward at a minimum.
