If they get flood of people unsubscribing to their email, then they may start getting message.

Mark them as spam. Usually there's a set threshold at which email services will throttle / prevent sending of emails if too many get marked as spam in a short time.

All you have to do is reply 'stop' to the next annoying text message you get and you will be unsubscribed... I did it today...
