This came from my brother, who was there. He said it was weird. Minimal police presence, and they made no meaningful effort to hold the barricades. The retreat didn't seem panicked; it seemed ordered. My dad said the same thing based on the videos, so we've got an Iraq vet and a former Marine who both smell a setup.

My brother also said that the bulk of people were hesitant to pass the barricades, even after they'd been abandoned. They saw a group of people ahead of them, and were unsure if they should join them or not. There were a few people foolish enough to just go along with everything, but the handful of people who actually "breached" the Capitol were not really a part of the rally.
