Gab has been up and down like that for years. I'm not sure the new users have that much to do with it but still 600,000 new users per day is .1% of the US population.
They've been pounded by Seychilles IP's, kicked off by Microsoft and others, had their domain seized by GoDaddy. It's been rough for them.
