20 years of IT experience here. Cloud computing was the worst thing to happen to the industry.
Completely agree. Working with the cloud is WAY more complicated and difficult than managing a small cluster of local servers. That's enough for most businesses.
I need to do this too. It now feels very wrong to be on AWS.
I don't have that capability. Are there any online cloud providers that aren't communist? I'm almost better off using alibaba, at least they tell the truth who they serve
I use DigitalOcean. Not sure if they are based or not, but they are a smaller company, and it's not Amazon or Google. They also have the best UI and documentation.
