See my comment elsewhere, looks like PayPal bought a Chinese payment processor and PayPal is the first non-Chinese payment processor to operate in China....but PayPal is owned by EBay which is a publicly traded US company. Having said that, another person commented that PayPal most likely gave up something to China since they don’t allow foreigners access to their population without getting something in return.
Ah, thank you. I was close to deleting my PayPal account as well. Given this new information, it’s probably the case that I will still have to at some point in the near future
Make no mistake that PayPal most assuredly gave something to the CCP in order for them to allow them to take 100% control of the Chinese payment processor even if they’re not technically owned by China. I don’t trust PayPal and they should be treated in similar regard to the other big tech companies.
PayPal is completely owned by China now correct? I saw that a couple days ago… A Chinese company bought out their parent company…
