I don’t believe McConnell publicly said that, seems like NYT BS to me. The Senate won’t have enough time for impeachment inquiries because they are out of session until the 19th and cannot come back unless there is unanimous consent from all 100 Senators. McConnell actually directly stated this on a letter to his GOP caucus.
Trump will most likely be impeached in the House but not the Senate, this is just all politics and optics to make you forget about the voter fraud and inconsistencies of the election.
