He surrounded himself with and employed people in the most powerful positions in government that were corrupt, self serving pieces of shit. Barr, Wray, Pence...Did not clean up the FBI in the slightest, didn't fire Barr when he stated he wouldn't be going after democrats because there is a Republican President...He endorsed people for Governor and other office's without proper vetting. He did ALOT of great things here, but securing this election was not fucking one of them...Insurrection Act, Martial Law, the grounds for these acts have well and truly been met, but no...There is so much evidence of illegality and outright sedition/insurrection. For him to expect Pence to at the last minute to pull a hail mary, after doing fuck all himself to get things done, to secure the evidence, was just classless. I still support him, but fuck man...
I have to agree. Not securing the AGs office from day one was a huge mistake. Either he didn't pay attention to the details or didn't quite realize how entrenched the deep state actually is.
If he had a real AG, they would have immediately arrested some of the election fraud perp.s and then followed the chain of command right up into the CIA or vatican or wherever it ends.
There were plenty of patriot choices out there. Jay Sekulow, Sidney Powell, even some of those great judicial watch lawyers could have gotten this done.
Having said all this, Trump was still the best president we've had in a 100 years. I wonder if we will ever get another patriot in office before the return of the Lord?
Trump certainly deserves some blame, no doubt. But, its not that simple. You can only get an AG that will be confirmed. Trump needed 50 votes (51 not counting Pence tiebreaking) to get an AG confirmed. Congress is full to the brim with criminals. Do you really think criminals are going to vote for an attorney general that's interested in investigating and prosecuting criminals? Of course they won't. That's why we got Sessions and Barr. I don't know if Trump actually thought they'd work for him, or whether he just made the best of a bad situation with people who wouldn't actively aid the corruption, but the cabinet confirmation system is one of the checks on the swamp's power.
Obama warned us Trump's presidency would be sabotaged by the rest of the government.
I personally think he should have fought much harder on personnel, but I'm sure he had more duties and tasks than I can imagine. I'd have preferred he went scorched earth. If they won't confirm his nominees, just start axing entire departments. Order them closed until a permanent secretary is confirmed to head them.
To that point, I cannot imagine either how much else was on his plate, or any president's plate. No doubt they were creating a deluge to keep him busy as well. It's one thing for us to be able to pick apart 50 policy positions on this site and another for a man to walk into a viper den and have to choose people rapidly to take care of 40 of them ASAP while he hones in on 10 himself.
