It does sound strange, but before I posted to 'debunk' I just pulled my Mossberg 500 out, unloaded of course, and tried to put it in a position to pull the trigger against my chest. It was surprisingly easy to get it in a spot that would work right over the heart. It may be a rare form of suicide but plausible.
