Ultimately, your political actions should not be done for yourself or even for your country. The goal of your political actions should be to create justice and stability in the world, and this ultimately out of love for God, as an act of charity. Therefore do not judge your own actions or this movement by its success or lack thereof--that is in God's hands and it is vanity and foolishness to suppose otherwise. The only question to ask yourself is this: did I act with courage to try and bring about justice and the common good these last few months? If you can say yes to that, then you can rest easy. You have done your duty to God and you will earn an eternal reward for it which is far better than whatever worldly thing you were trying to accomplish here.

My suspicion is that many, many people in this movement can say "yes, I did what I could and I showed courage. I was mocked. I was hated. I lost friendships. I put my neck out on the line for what I thought was right." If this is true, then you did not lose, no matter what the world thinks. Because we all know that it takes no courage to be a leftist today. There is no comparable virtue or courage in being an outspoken "liberal." But the world is God's and I think He has decided that it will go a different way for now. His designs are beyond our understanding but even I can see how this country needs to suffer hardship for the good of its souls. Four more years of Trump would simply have enabled more self-indulgence and ingratitude from the many many leftists in this country.

Unless Trump or some other leader emerges and gives a call to action that has a reasonable chance of success, I think it's time to give yourself a break. You have acquitted yourselves well. Do not be mad at Trump for his failures, or yourself. Stay proud and always stand up for the truth. But give yourself a break. Rest up and enjoy life, recover yourself. All is not lost and the war never ends till you die, it's okay to take a break now and then.
