It’s an intentional game. The dems and republicans know they each can’t hold power for too long, or they’ll become an enemy of the people.
The only way to continue to have the population divided and fighting each other is to continue to swing the power back and fourth, giving the illusion it’s a two party system, when it’s clearly not.
I don’t get too concerned about the dems winning forever, because if they do, it’s guaranteed the populace will stop fighting each other, and finally come for the ruling class. The only reason they had to out Trump? He wasn’t playing their game.
