If you arent sleeping, you are fortifying the position. If you arent doing either of those, you are cleaning and maintaining your weapon or drilling to keep fit. Hopefully they have some anti-personnel mines, razor wire, and sand-bagged heavy weapon emplacements with nice firing lines just out of shot.
Congress is about to learn what this whole 'war' thing is, and it doesn't actually mean sending young people off to die overseas while getting nice bags of cash from defense contractors for approving the latest spending boondoggle.
