I will ALWAYS upvote Carlin, even though I'm pretty sure he was a lib. Still smarter than the average politician.

He was a lib by 1998 standards. The world's changed, man. I like to think if he were still here, he'd still be a voice for reason.

I'm a lib by older standards:

  • No endless war
  • Ensure everyone has some form of healthcare
  • Prison reform
  • Efficient government can provide

But Trump has taught me:

  • Uni-party will always want war
  • Healthcare for all is a scam, and your government will fight to keep it inefficient
  • System of a Down was right: they're trying to build a prison for you and me to live in
  • Government will never surrender power, and will always work to control you.

Human nature cannot be trusted. Compassion must be provided for the people, by the people, but the government cannot bear the burdens of man. Centralized government will ensure absolute power, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Where are all the bright people of conscience?

They can see how hopelessly corrupt the system is and think "Fuck this, I'm gonna do something else with my time."
