The IRS is swamped right now. You'd be better off swamping them with paperwork. They're already 7 months behind (I'm still waiting on a check I should have received in May). They claim they haven't received my paperwork yet and don't know when they'll get to it. If you don't pay your taxes, they'll kill you with interest and then seize your assets.
It's very hard to not pay taxes, especially if you're legally employed by a company. They'll take it out automatically and if you don't file your taxes, they'll eventually raid your bank account.
They will make examples out of a few to control the masses.
