Too many leftists who would oppose it. But this would put our 2nd amendment on the table as well. You need some rock fucking solid people to be there to prevent that
The majority of state legislatures are republican. The majority of those members aren't "in-crowd" Republicans. It vastly broadens the amount of elections you have to influence to influence the makeup senate.
Our founding fathers were quite smart with the way they designed our government. We were fools for tampering with it.
Its your local legislator... there is good areguments on both sides... i belive it should be repeled. Its easier to change out bad senators this way. We are a representative republic the more we turn into a democracy the more we destroy ourselves
The Senate right now is not what was originally intended. The Senate was there to protect the interests of the individual states which is why the legislatures picked the Senators. They voted away their power because people were paying too much attention to their Senate choices! That is another good reason to go back to the old way!
Voter ID is a state issue. If you really want voter ID, help candidates who are for it campaign. If you're in a state with fraud, volunteer to become a counter. Politicians are unreliable. Campaigning and volunteering to be a counter or a poll watcher for elections is the way to go.
And the goal of the COS is?
Impose Congressional term limits
Repeal the Seventeenth Amendment, returning the election of Senators to state legislatures
Allow states to more easily amend the Constitution by bypassing Congress
Create a process where two-thirds of the states can nullify federal laws
**Require photo ID to vote , limit early voting **
IF we ever get it, everything should be on the table including an amendment that states that life starts at conception.

Exactly! Why not have Donald Trump himself run the Convention? George Washington ran the first one, why not our best to run this one?
Why on earth would we let the legislatures elect Senators? That sounds awful considering today's corrupt government.

It would completely overturn our current Constitution. It's an awful idea because you don't decide who represents you there.
I think you're a new account also.

What else does that allow besides those 2 things. How can the politicians abuse this? You know they will abuse it.
Since you are stating your interest in the subject, I recommend reading this book on the topic, written by a true patriot and scholar.
