I’ve been trying to spread this news for a while now. If things with Trump go south, CoS is literally the last arrow in Liberty’s quiver.

I’ll also put it out there that, with God’s help things do work out for Trump, the Article V CoS should still be pursued. Success with CoS would drain much of the accumulated overreaching powers of the government and return them to the States and the People.

Who decides who would go to the convention? Is it us? Do you trust Congress or your state legislature to make that decision for you? Do you trust representatives from liberal states to do what's best for you? Do you think Republicans who are abandoning the president are principled enough to preserve your freedom? No, it's an awful idea, the original Constitution was a result of a similar convention that originally had a different document. The Constitution is federally stronger than the previous document. The same thing would happen with a convention, and we lack the statesmen and brilliance of the founders.

I hear you on many points, it is a daunting prospect and looks iffy in any number of ways. But I’m leaning on two things here:

Thing 1 is at this point what do have to lose by reign? If this shakes out the way the left wants it to (a Democrat house, Senate and presidency with one foot already firmly planted in socialism) - the constitution will be worthless anyway. We see every day how little regard is being given to the original or the newer, “stronger” constitution. How many times in the the past 4 years have we seen constitutional law and citizens’ rights being violated in the most horrific ways by a government that only quotes the constitution when it can be conveniently twisted to fit their narrative? The Flynn fiasco, the Trump witch hunt, the Biden corrruption... between the Dems and the Rinos we’ve almost got no constitution left anymore.

Thing 2 is more positive and hopeful and based upon the great statesmen and founders you mentioned. They were humble and intellectually honest enough to acknowledge that corruption can and will work it’s way into the hearts of men (and women) in charge. They built article V into the constitution as a tool for the People to reset the country in the case of new oppression.

Don’t you see? Those same statesmen and brilliant founders created this failsafe because they trusted future generations to be able to employ it to restore the Constitution. They created it to be employed by the common People who at some future date recognize that corruption and oppression was destroying their nation. The founders knew that such a correction could ONLY come from the common, average American, and they believed in those future common Americans to carry it through enough to give us this failsafe.

So no, we may not have the statesmen and geniuses of the revolution era, but we have a pool of some 80 million Americans (at least) who can see what’s wrong and are willing to fight to change it.

And as for no longer having brilliant founders and statesmen - I think that point can be argued. Our statesmen and brilliant founders today may not look the same, but when you consider men like Donald Trump, Mark Levin, Vernon Jones,Josh Hawley,Matt Geatz, Jim Jordan, Sidney Powell, General Flynn, Elise Stefanik, Lauren Boebert, and great thinkers like Thomas Sowell (who I could see working Independence Hall with the best of the founders) and more...

So, I’ll wrap by saying again: The Dems, the left and the foreign powers have taken or are getting ready to really give away everything that makes this nation so exceptional, so if nothing else - what have we got to lose?

You only need a handful of good men. Part of the beauty is that the Convention is so rare it has never been called. The closer it gets to the necessary 34 sataes the more the debate would ring across America. It would get people thinking about the basic issues again and that can't be a bad thing.
