They activate reserves to help supplement active duty forces, not just when they run out of ADs to deploy. Hell one of my buddies joined the army reserves back in the early 2000s and wound up doing a few sandbox tours he never saw coming.
I’m pretty sure they’ll even send nat guards to supplement, even though they are really supposed to be the home turf minutemen.
Probably getting ready for to reoccupy afghan and iraq, and who knows where else.
War machine is chomping at the bit.
Why would they be activating reserves to do that?

Correct, most of the Iraq occupation vets I have met were National Guardsmen.
The only people from the initial 2003 invasion that I know were Marines though.
Mostly Army, Marines supplemented with a Division plus on initial invasion.
Theyre not even using some active duty guys. My brother is chilling on his base not doing anything.
