Start with something small and immediately relatable. My go to is to start from the bottom, with 9/11, and go from there. Explain to them how the Government has slowly been incremently adding more power and authority to itself over time, and the real nail to drive home is we ALL knew that - prior to 2016, of course. Basically, just reminding them, "Oh yeah, wait, the government has become rather overbloated and authoritarian, even before Trump.." is enough to get the ball a - rollin'. But, the cherry on top is to be the one to break it to them and say, "So, then, do you think the Government will really only use this newfound power to decide elections only once? Really?" If they're smart enough to put 2 + 2 together, it might be enough for a Liberal Blackpill. Realizing what they just handed over a littttttle too late hahaha.
