You can't replace them. Many of the states have caucuses where they just appoint who they want. The ones who don't will cook the vote. The GOP will soon institute the same super delegate system as the Dimms and make it impossible for the voters to pick the candidates. . The only viable solution is a new party.
I agree. I said in something I posted earlier today that creating a third party just splits the votes two ways. I got criticized because I was accused of supporting the GOP. I’m not saying support it. I’m saying that we take it back and restore it to what it is suppose to be.

And it's been no less true for 30 years that there's no better, more sure-fire way of giving Democrats undisputed power forever than to fracture the GOP into competing parties.
Let's say we start a MAGA or America First party? What happens? Certainly not every registered Republican is going to switch. Some would continue voting for the GOP candidate, so all we've done is reduced our power. Even if 75% of registered Republicans would switch to a MAGA party (and I have no delusions it would actually be anywhere near that high), that would still result in Democrats winning every single state and federal election.
We should hope that it's the left that fractures. The best thing that could possibly happen for conservatism in America is that the more radical Neo-progressive elements of the Democrats get tired of being tokenized and exploited by "old white people" and form their own radical left party. Separate the radical racial-identitarians from the relatively normal albeit naive and ignorant people who simply still think that Democrat = liberal and Republican = white supremacist, and the left would never win another election outside of places like California and New York where conservatives don't even bother running.
They can steal elections now, without consequence as much as they want.

The single biggest problem with starting a new party is funding. That shit costs a TON of money. Could you get a decent chunk in donations? Yeah. Will it be enough? No. And it'd be a HUGE challenge to get donators of the GOP to flip and it'd be even more of a challenge to get the donators who bailed after the 6th to back a MAGA party.
You need the money to be influential and hire pollsters, lawyers, canvassers, poll workers, purchase/lease space in DC and other major cities. We're talking tens of millions a year. It's fucking WILD how much money these guys pull in. From lobby groups and wealthy donors.
IF you could get large lobby groups to link up with a MAGA party, something like the NRA, then you'd be in business. But the NRA is petrified right now because Biden is going to shut them down and make it so firearms manufacturers can be sued if a weapon is used in an 'unlawful way'. AKA, with the gun violence in Chicago alone, they'll be sued into bankruptcy in a year. Does it fix gun violence? Nope. Is it a HUGE STEP into disarming the public? Yep.
Gun manufactures go bankrupt already, how who the fuck knows especially in these times, look at Remington, I think they BK'd twice in the lst 5 years.
Just look at the Green party and Libertarian party. They've done all that, and still only pull a single digit percentage in races, at most.
Or the Tea Party. That movement had real potential, and the GOP helped shut it down almost immediately.
The GOP is not giving up a shred of whatever power they have left and the Dems allow them to have. McConnell and McDaniels will backstab you like the rest. The key is donors, and a new party with no power and no hope at any in either house will not attract big money donors and lobbyists. And that's under the old rules. A MAGA party starting now will probably be outlawed by the Congress, like literal legislation outlawing them. Don't worry about the Constitutionality of that, that doesn't matter anymore.
Just getting a couple seats in 2022 is almost an impossible dream now. A new party...I just can't see it getting anywhere the way things are - and that's the problem, we aren't supposed to be a two party system, but the DNC and GOP destroy anyone who tries to get started in a meaningful way.
The system is too far gone for any simple solutions. You'd be fighting an entrenched political system that has power and reach you can't comprehend. Why do you think they fought so hard to steal it?

More splinter parties could actually force the major parties to seek coalitions in order to win.
The GOP and for example the MAGA party would generally but not always vote together and in order for the GOP to have a chance to win power they'd have to give concessions to the MAGA party and take on some of that parties platform.
If the GOP then doesn't stand by what they said they would, then the coalition breaks up and the GOP doesn't get the votes from the MAGA party and they lose power.
Maybe the DNC splits up and then the MAGA and "more moderate traditionalist Dems party" could form a coalition and take on both the GOP and Socialist DNC.
Again...need real elections for that to even matter but, it is an idea.

It would only split the vote at first. If we got more than 50% of the votes, then eventually the new party will subsume the GOP and it will no longer exist. This has happened several times in the past. It turns out that it's not possibly to have more than two major parties (mathematically speaking, due to the first-past-the-post system), so any new opposition party will either win or lose, but not split for too long.

I'm done with republicans arguing their case based on 'due process'. The impeachment is a sham because the charges are false, not because of a failure to follow due process. The failure to follow protocol is an additional reason why this impeachment is wrong, but it is not the main reason.
For too long, the republicans have centered their cases around process. Whether it by the failure to condemn the BLM riots (because we all have a right to protest hurr durr) or by their failure to completely ignore the Kavanaugh accusations (because completely unsubstantiated allegations do not deserve to be heard).
