Depending on where/how you got your gun, they already know. Pistol from an FFL, they know. Rifle from most retailers, they already know. Having a weekly show on an online forum to get this info is an unnecessarily complicated plot.
Totally agree with you about the Govt already knowing what guns people have. There are private transactions but most people that have guns bought them from an FFL. With that said, I still think it is not a good idea to post what you have. Commies like to dox and if someone that posted lots of pics of their toys were to have their name and address distributed, it makes them an easy target for getting their stuff stolen. Not everyone locks their weapons up in safes.
I’ve posted pics before, but you make a great point. No real reason to advertise it (though my “Don’t Tread On Me” Shield is pretty fucking awesome). As for the gov’t though, they don’t need to be sneaky.
I’d hate to think it, but anything’s possible at this point. Gotta say I’m leaning toward no, though.
