No, but some of us naively believed they wouldn't be able to stop him. I know I did.

Nope, they spent 4 years trying to destroy and get rid of Trump. Russiagate, investigations, hearings, impeachment, fake scandals, etc.

There was absolutely no way they were going to allow Trump to serve a 2nd term.

Senate just announced they won't hear the Trump impeachment case until after Biden is inaugurated. This has two interesting effects. Firstly, it puts into legal doubt whether Trump's removal can even be valid if he is already out of office. Second, when a Senate has an impeachment to handle, that is the only order of business they can conduct. Meaning Biden won't be able to get any of his nominees processed until the impeachment vote is taken. This will absolutely hamstring his agenda in the first hundred days, assuming the Dems don't try to rush the vote as quick as possible once they take control of the Senate. Rushing a vote increases the likelihood that squishy senators don't vote to impeach. The Dem impeachment plan is stupid and ill-conceived and it may be constitutionally void the moment Trump leaves office.

This is exactly correct. I was telling people I was getting nervous about Labor Day 2020 with all the crap going on. Mail-in voting, etc They were never going to let Trump win, no matter what

They got complacent in 2016. We all saw this coming in 2020, including Trump. All that's left is whether or not Trump will continue to fight or keep talking about "healing and unity" which is not happening.
