They are making an example of President Trump. Not for others who may follow him, but to us, his voters. How dare we pick someone not already in the network of favors for a decade or more? How dare we choose someone who will fight their resistance at every turn? How dare we pick someone who doesn't have the slick persona of a seasoned political professional. How dare we go against the status quo.
