The 20,000 currently is the equivalent of 4-5 BCTs depending on what type of BCT, and is the same amount we deployed during the surge in Iraq in 07. It also dwarfs the Katrina response, which I believe was 10k. Is this typical dumb dem theatrics or something else? I find it hard to believe even the swampiest of swamp would go along with such an absurd amount of troops just for optics, and surely an intelligent swamp creature would realize those optics will seem sus to even their brain dead loyalist base.
