Amazing technology and convenience are great but what did we willingly give up to these people? These big tech folks that post convincing privacy policies to make us feel safe that will likely not mean anything considering how readily they will do other shady things like sell our information, censor us, and shame us for having "dangerous" opinions. The cool little devices that seem to get better and better, so long as you agree to their terms. Yet most of us have given them:

  1. Access to our bank accounts and credit card accounts
  2. Our personal information including our address, phone numbers, birthdates, etc.
  3. Our fingerprints (iPhones)
  4. Facial/retina recognition information
  5. Our social networks including family, friends (co-conspirators)
  6. Privacy (pictures and info about our most cherished possessions or moments)
  7. Our locations at any given time
  8. Data about our likes/dislikes allowing them to profile us and target us with advertising
  9. Our religious and/or political viewpoints and beliefs so they can categorize us

We put their cameras and listening devices all over our homes to, you know, protect ourselves. Everything connects to the internet now!

Maybe it's time to start unplugging because regardless of what happens in bogus elections, we have done much of this to ourselves and can't, in any circumstance, ever expect that the government will protect us or our rights! It is the nature of government to take from the people, to seek more power and control, and to be self-serving. This is nearly impossible to stop and we will find ourselves in a conundrum. Keep pace with ever-expanding tech culture in order to work and associate with others or protect our own privacy, rights, and perhaps even our lives!

Ironically, middle-eastern countries that we have disparaged for so long for their dark-age mentality and lack of modernizing are starting to look slightly more appealing, minus the barbaric ideologies that plague most of them.

This post isn't meant to doom or shame. It's just something we should all reflect on and consider making some changes, no matter how inconvenient, because as we have seen in recent weeks these people that we are up against are becoming more outrageous and emboldened. They will not stop, EVER. Things are moving rapidly and we need to get our affairs in order. No politician, government, celebrity, or website chat room can save us!
