The last 4 speeches/appearances (since the 6th) he hasn't acted like his boastful, high energy self at all.

I think at the time of the initial announcement he thought he had something going with Pence and the electors and/or Congressional audit. Then Pence played Judas and whatever plan or hope for the 6th that he had was shot to shit. He then had to just wing it. Well, Trump said himself the Biden administration is when speaking about the transition. His own state department released an official statement saying the transition is going smoothly and orderly and Biden would be sworn in on the 20th.
