To tell the truth, being autistic can be kind of cool, but it also really sucks. Most of us suffer from some level of PTSD from trying to live in a world dominated by normal people who can't understand us but think the can. I just skimmed that article; good stuff! I will read this tomorrow. There is a lot of helpful info to think about. It wasn't until 2 years ago that I really started to have severe problems affecting work. That's what prompted me to start researching autism (15 years after diagnosis). I've figured out a lot of stuff on my own, but reading what other autists are writing has helped me so much. There are things I never realized like interoception difficulties. Now I know why my son has to remind me to eat. I don't always know when I'm hungry. But most importantly, I'm finding that I'm not alone.
