Since Apple store and Google play are censorship app that are being posted on their store (parler and Gab) why can't TDW and other site post their ApK files on their website as "official apk", post instructions, and let everyone download from the official websites?

They're doing it the old fashioned way which is to use the mobile browser to create an app like experience to use the site. That way they don't have to bend the knee to apple or google. Sure with android you could sideload the APK but there are bad actors that would leave poisoned malware APKs trying to sucker the uninformed. Those are the things I've heard and they do make sense.
If Gab, Parler, and TDW just make sure they have good resources to make it snap they can prosper. We need just a little boost and for the so-called conservative commentators to get their head out of their ass and join Gab and Parler when it comes back online. Ted Cruz and Rand Paul need to get on, when they got on Parler it took off they can raise the level of discourse on the site. We need to show a wholesale rejection of Big Tech's monopoly by all of us walking away. When they lose millions of subscribers that will hit their bottom line from selling ads.
Yeah, potential for someone to add a malicious payload to the apk is possible.
And yes, I think TDW web gui is amazing, and can be used as a pure web browser on phones and tablets.
Gab is pretty good to. Lately becuase of the influx of new users they are having to scale at insane levels, so the user experience is not the best right now. But, in another couple of weeks, I would assume enough nodes turned up.
Good question, I think a lot of it has to do with the type of server, TD.W is just a cloudflare website, cloudflare doesn't offer services to download apps, at least I don't think they do?
