Just secede and then buy the land back once communism and "compassion" turn their land into venezuela.
No immigration and everyone on the land must first leave. They'll do it for cans of beans at that point. Then we can keep them around and use it to show our kids the perils of socialism. Just have to stamp out any weaponized compassion.
