Our current government organization is predicated on XVIII-century information speed. We need to make referendum the corner stone of modern democracy at the local level, but also above. I revere the Constitution but it becomes abundantly clear that elected officials do not respect It. So time for the people to speak again.

Is this like the Marius vs. Sulla power struggles? Or Caesar vs. the Senate?

The resemblance to Roman history is uncanny. I mean after the Punic Wars, Rome had a deep state, big time.
