Our current government organization is predicated on XVIII-century information speed. We need to make referendum the corner stone of modern democracy at the local level, but also above. I revere the Constitution but it becomes abundantly clear that elected officials do not respect It. So time for the people to speak again.

We need to repeal the 17th amendment and get back to letting our reps choose the senate. Reinvigorate the state legislatures and re-empower by defusing the power that has been usurped by the federal government since reconstruction. That’s how we limit corruption. We don’t need individuals making new laws on popular whims otherwise we will end up with bad law made in the heat of emotional turmoil.

Apparently they'd just give it away to some election commission like they gave away their power to choose electors.
