The earliest the articles of impeachment could be transmitted to the Senate is January 20th at 1PM

But once Trump leaves office, the Senate can't hold an impeachment trial.

So why do it? Figure that one out.

Maybe somethings coming they're trying to stop....

Bongino mentioned that haute doing it for pure political destruction of Trump. The fight isn’t over and with so many people talking if primarying in 2022 he can use his influence to help get in Trump Republicans. They want to thwart that b

Nope. If / When Trump were to leave office there would be a line of state DA's and prosecutors drooling to be the first ones to bring charges against him and his family and get the pic /video of slapping the cuffs on him.

That is a career maker in left wing circles as well as destruction.

This is something else. Watch.

Why do it? You just showed it in your statement.

No mention of election fraud anymore.

What are you talking about? They can impeach you after you leave office at any time. But that does beg the question, "Why the urgency, right now?"

How can they impeach a President that isn’t even in office?? Genuine question

This touches on it, but isn't comprehensive. Basically, it's used to keep you from holding any other elected offices, and I think you lose you SS protection and possibly whatever else a retired president gets, not exactly sure on that though.
