I've been all over the planet with manufacturing and engineering. I've seen shit in China that makes this look like a microchip manufacturer. This is absolutely the norm for mass produced goods in surge quantities.
Every fad that pops up you can think of requires surge operations like this(sticky hand slappers, fidget spinners, masks). The only way to meet capacity without investing in the required machinery is slave labor.

No wonder there was a shortage. I had imagined machinery made the masks.
