Cultures grow by sharing ideas, foods, inventions, customs, behaviors, either copying them and/or making them their own, improving on them or changing them, and then sharing the new ideas, inventions, customs, and behaviors with others. The idea that it's "cultural appropriation" to share ideas and behaviors across different cultures is meant to keep us isolated and stuck.
