Living in HK and China and travelling all over the world makes this whole notion of 'cultural appropriation' absolutely nonsensical.
If this were a game of Civ, the US would have secured a culture win decades ago. Our culture is mass appropriated in literally every country in the world.
If we suddenly took aim at cultural appropriation, most of the world would be left literally pant-less (jeans), a massive portion of 'authentic' foods would have to be banned (sorry cha cha tengs), MOST foreign music artists would be cancelled, as well as every single foreign film that borrows Hollywood techniques (even if poorly - looking at you China and bollywood). Haha, I just realized even India's film industry's moniker is a cultural appropriation.
The only people pushing for cultural appropriation to become a new 'racist evil' are weak minded liberals and insecure immigrants. Just the idea of cultural appropriation is laughable everywhere else in the world.
