make sure your your EMERGENCY ALERT is turned ON ( general / notifications / scroll down to bottom) and as a precaution do not UPDATE your phone till AFTER this is all over...DO NOT TRUST APPLE at this time

Another precaution is Settings -> General -> Software Update -> Automatic Updates -> TURN BOTH AUTO-UPDATE FEATURES OFF
