Anybody who has dealt with a drinking problem realizes that exposing the drinking problem is the start of a long and hard journey. We haven't hit rock bottom, folks. But get ready for it. When you hit rock bottom, you have to rely on trusted friends and family. You have to learn to work hard for the sake of pride in one's own work, for the sake of family and community. We will have to re-establish our values from the ground up. And you have to work extra hard to avoid slipping into the temptation to cut corners merely for glory and wealth.
God punished the Israelites harsher for less than what we have done. But remember that God spared the righteous family (except the one who looked back) from the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah.
