Yet. People said the same thing about many other industries only to one day be out of a job.

Stand up for others now because they're coming for every wrongthinker eventually.

Back in the 90s, the tech industry had a very libertarian bent. Now the tech industry is overrun with far-left crazies.

This has been incredibly painful to experience. The tech industry was an amazing place in the 90s, it really was a bunch of very independent thinker types. I think what happened was back then it was so hard to find tech help that techies could get away with anything. You could show up to meetings with a mohawk and a pink tie because nobody could fire you.

Now tech is overrun with HR departments and H1-Bs, techies have become so comfortable in their overpaid desk jobs their terrified of losing them.

It also helps that the Tech industry has their large numbers of H1B employees....if they step out of line their work visa is revoked.

It's also very easy for foreign nationals to censor the free speech of Americans.

Far left crazies doesn’t even begin to describe what the management and staff of these companies is.

It’s overt communist propagandists at every level.

Isn’t it illegal to be a communist in the United States?

2
OswaldMosley 2 points ago +2 / -0

That explains why tech actually worked back then and runs like garbage now.

Nah, truckers are some of the most based people in the country. What's gonna ruin this idea though, is how close we are to autonomous vehicles. A robot trucker that drives itself can have the wrongthink literally programmed right out of it.

Self driving trucks still need a driver In case the computer fails

13
Cross_The_Rubicon 13 points ago +13 / -0

Then stop delivering

11
VapingTrumpsPiss 11 points ago +11 / -0

Same friend. Flatbedder here. Our industry is quite based. My bosses knew I went to DC and they just said don't get arrested. Lmao.

10
dontsteponsnek 10 points ago +10 / -0

They’re working on self driving trucks to take care of you guys, don’t worry

3
VapingTrumpsPiss 3 points ago +5 / -2

That won't happen for a long time so good luck. And even when it does they'll have to have someone in the truck for emergencies and other things like fueling, paperwork, and securing the load for flatbeds.

2
skatestraight 2 points ago +2 / -0

That will all be handled at the base. Remote drivers will be a thing long before autonomous trucks and we arent even at that point yet

0
VapingTrumpsPiss 0 points ago +1 / -1

That's impossible to handle at a 'base'.

2
skatestraight 2 points ago +2 / -0

So you can't fuel the truck, complete inspections and other paper work and secure the load before sending the truck out on it's own? I fail to see how that's impossible and I'm a truck driver.

They already do remote equipment operating so I'm sure trucks arent far behind

2
VapingTrumpsPiss 2 points ago +2 / -0

No you can't? Like, my yard is in SC. This load I'm on now is going to Montana and Nevada. Lmao. You would have to overturn the entire industry and rebuild from scratch. Plus there are too many variables to incorporate to have trucks that drive themselves. I just drove through SD in 70+ mph winds. Weather is such a huge factor that AI can't compute for right now. You would still need a person in the truck babysitting it for emergencies. Right now they only are even testing "exit to exit" trucks on the interstate down in I believe Arizona. It's really not as progressed as you would be led to believe. Plus in my field, my specialization is oversize loads, which is an entirely different monster.

Nah, they'll just change the tax policy to force trucking companies to outsource their drivers to immigrants.

2
Sargentpilcher 2 points ago +2 / -0

Elon Musk has entered the chat.

MicahReno [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Self driving trucks still need a driver inside in case the computer fails. Just makes my job easier.

6
EyesInTheHills 6 points ago +6 / -0

Just wait until your customers, service providers, fuel companies, and banks all start refusing your business unless you perform regular "safety checks" of drivers. You're fine for now, but for how long? This totalitarian bullshit is coming for all of us.

0
MicahReno [S] 0 points ago +1 / -1

they won't, they need us too much

MicahReno [S] 0 points ago +1 / -1

Lol they can't. Make truckers make no money you get no truckers.

0
HoldthelineUSA2020 0 points ago +1 / -1

ok, until the millions of new citizens with amnesty want to drive.

Own your own fleet, and be early adopter of self driving and lower waged help to make it. Most will not.

cosmicspiritwarrior 2 points ago +2 / -0

Nah, not albertsons\safeway (although they are dicks to suppliers) but thats more fredmeyers\kroger level shit. Muslim lefty got me fired from my broker because fredy manager lied to my client to appease a customer. They give zero shits about anyone.

1
MicahReno [S] 1 point ago +2 / -1

My owners are based as fuck. so are most trucking owners, Albertsons won't fuck with their supply line.

2
awsure 2 points ago +2 / -0

Until you get replaced by a fucking AI / robot

2
HoldthelineUSA2020 2 points ago +3 / -1

and the new citizens. They can drive too, and with amnesty will be 100% legal and less to pay.

1
MicahReno [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Even self driving trucks need a driver in the cab

2
SteakywithKetchup 2 points ago +3 / -1

You are lucky so many of us will be punished and could lose so much for just being honest and open. My family left foreign oppression for this? This is NOT America!

2

MNy more too. In fact most of the industry we really need are same as you. Who the fk needs Twitter and google and youtube and cnn etc.

We need food and hydro etc.

You are doing good work fren.

2
Klown_Kutz 2 points ago +2 / -0

Same thing in mine. I'm not worried about being out of work for very long.

1
here_holdmybeer 1 point ago +1 / -0

Same here, love my boss and coworkers for that fact (and many others).

And it will be a cold day in hell when Leftists get into the trades and blue collar work. That type of work is beneath them.

1
HoldthelineUSA2020 1 point ago +2 / -1

Dude, the displaced refugees and new citizens though amnesty will be the ones taking your job.

They do it for less, and this means more profit for Globalist.

This will touch every person in our country.

Those with credentials and specialized training will be the upper class.

1
Cowcutter 1 point ago +1 / -0

Time to make the cities grind to a halt. Got into an argument with a bunch of libtards a month ago, telling them that truckers could shut them down in a week. They tried telling me they could get anyone to do your job. Argued that money is more important than your freedom. I have a couple friends who drive. The refuse to drive through a bunch of cities. Libtards just don't understand the reality of what makes the world go round. 36 hours and grocery stores are empty

1
FuckGovernment 1 point ago +1 / -0

They're trying to implement driverless trucks. Perhaps still years away, but it's coming. The demoKKKrats want you to be out of work.

1
MicahReno [S] 1 point ago +2 / -1

Driverless trucks still need a driver in them in case something goes wrong with the computer. They still need someone to drive in the cities, auto trucks will only be used on highways which means my job just gets easier.

0
HoldthelineUSA2020 0 points ago +1 / -1

and they will probably make the US taxpayer foot the bill to destroy industries.

1
321C 1 point ago +1 / -0

I was really hoping the rumors that the truckers would boycott would come true...there's still time to let 'em know who actually runs this country

1
Sendnudes 1 point ago +1 / -0

How long until truckers revolt against the big tech censorship?

It is amazing to see when european truckers decide to make their voices heard.

1
HoldthelineUSA2020 1 point ago +2 / -1

USA seems to be too pussy to do anything like those across the pond.

We are all too soft these days.

1
gaijin_ronin 1 point ago +1 / -0

Now we need you to cut off lib city deliveries.

1
consumptiveballerina 1 point ago +1 / -0

Stop the Tires?

1
HoldthelineUSA2020 1 point ago +2 / -1

Ill believe when I see it.

You threaten not to drive, they have many lower cost alternatives.

1
Schumer_if_true 1 point ago +1 / -0

Okay then organize a strike against the DC swamp

1
AngrySerb1 1 point ago +1 / -0

I think this speaks for the trades as well. Although I work for myself so I'm not sure if they cucked out or not.

0
HoldthelineUSA2020 0 points ago +1 / -1

Think truckers wont be hurt?

Think again. If you own your own fleet you can make it.

There will be millions of new citizens after amnesty. They will be legal to hire and will still work for less than you.

0
McPickle 0 points ago +1 / -1

You know, if you guys stopped delivering food to the cities, we'd get our audited re-counts.
